Inside the La Jolla complex, perched high in the third floor, there is a place that resembles heaven. The overview of the Krystal Hotel’s giant Palapa mixed with the unimaginable, turquoise skies create a sense of mesmerizing peace the likes of which can only be found in a few places in the world.
This wonderful, colorful, incredible location holds one thing above all, peace.
Vintage settings in and around create the sensation of being transported into another era, where woods and hard rock merged and mixed.
Deep-colored, high gloss woodworks adorn the cabinets that seem to float atop the kitchen, while greyish countertops of granite shine playfully in the light. The centerpiece holds granite tops, with rotating benches that line up their light-colored woods. The lamp above, in vintage brass, seems to add light and space to the room. The many appliances that cover the space bring contrast between the vintage setting and the modern days.
Inside the bedroom, the King size bed has been carefully adorned with a reminder of the ocean at dusk, where the yellow sun begins to fade into the horizon. A mirror in brass frame stands above a small desk in dark wood, and nightstands and lamps are all that decorates the room.
Past a small arch in the wall, a wooden closet hides away behind its shinning doors, carefully concealing cleaning supplies.
Inside the bathroom, the cozy environment seems showered with dark tones of granite and wood, adding to the sense of home. A metallic lizard seems to crawl towards the ceiling, its dark skin contrasting with the white walls. The pearl in the counter is the sink, shining like white gold against mud. The ceiling-high mirror glass does nothing short of enhancing the room and its space. Diamond-cut marble tiles cover the inside of the shower, while a wall made with glass blocks shields the rest of the room.
The living room represents a different story.
In here, a white pull out bed, shaped like a loveseat in white dresses, faces an antique entertainment Centre, made from solid wood and carved into gentle shapes. A small round table with a magnificent array of colors imprinted into the webbings of the marble top shields it from one side, and from the other, a large table in the Old Hacienda Style covered by a blue fabric stands by the window. In the middle, an old trunk, made from wood and iron hinges, provides the service of a coffee table. A large mirror in the back and a painted fish in the front are all that adorn the walls. Inside the entertainment center, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a local phone, show proof that the antique can coexist with the modern amenities.
And then, there is the surprise in the Fabergé – the Balcony.
Two lounge chairs and four garden chairs face a world that seems to be oblivious to the rest of the happenings. The view can be set towards the pools, these sapphires in the middle of the emerald grass and dry lands, and from there, a magnificent blue diamond shines and sparkles against the sun. As the waves ripple and rise, the luminescence shifts and changes constantly, creating a hypnotizing effect that cannot be surpassed by anything else. The constant roars of the ocean mix with the many shimmering sounds of the palm tree leafs and the rustle of the wind.
And all this, as the blue sky transforms slowly throughout the day, turning from an even blue, through every color of the rainbow, and ending with a masterful smearing of multicolored paint, covering from blue to green, from yellow to red, from gold to purple, and every other color you may dream.
